We understand that our success depends on providing our people with an environment in which they can thrive. And that's just what we're doing. It's an approach that makes our people a priority.
Ours is an exciting and dynamic business - and a demanding one. We believe that if we expect people's continued energy and commitment at work, we must provide the right environment for that to happen.
We aim to make working at Giantcode Corporation an energising and fulfilling experience. We want people to be positive and enthusiastic about what they are doing, with a clear sense of purpose, and pride in their individual contribution to the company's success.
This means providing inspiring and effective leadership, open lines of communication, excellent learning and development opportunities, a safe and energising workplace, competitive reward and benefits and a culture of equal opportunity in which individual success depends solely on personal merit and performance.
We also encourage and support a healthy work-life balance, which we know is essential to the continued well-being of all our employees worldwide.
And, because our business is based on innovation, we encourage people to be continuously creative, to question assumptions and systems, to challenge each other and build on fresh insights to find new and better ways of doing things.
Currently we have following available positions:
Biochemist: REFERENCE EP#241
The qualified candidate will be responsible for implementing a variety of biophysical technologies to characterise a broad range of bio therapeutics and to support process and analytical development for early and late stage products. He or she is also expected to be involved in our ongoing development of methods/procedures to apply biophysical technologies to treatment of various states of cancers.
An advanced understanding of structure, hydrodynamic properties and thermodynamic behaviours of proteins is required. Knowledge in mass spectrometry, bioassay and other general analytical techniques will be helpful. Excellent communication and writing skills are critical for the person to present fairly complex results to a general audience. The candidate is expected to be able to interact and work with other functional areas including bioprocess development, analytical method development and formulation screening.
- PhD degree with 2 years experience in physical biochemistry, analytical biochemistry, biochemistry, chemistry, or related field.
- 2-10+ years of industrial experience in protein biochemistry and characterisation; proven record of independent development of new assays with new instrumentation.
DESIRABLE:
- Experience of applying various biophysical techniques in drug characterization, including fluorescence spectroscopy, circular dichroism spectroscopy, light scattering, analytical ultracentrifugation and calorimetry. Experience of using chromatography techniques.
- Knowledge in biochemistry, chemistry, thermodynamics, chemical kinetics.
- Comfortable and effective in a team-based, fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with general analytical techniques used in characterising proteins.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Awareness of scientific literature.
- Knowledge of GLP/GMP requirements.
- Level and title will be commensurate with the experience and education level of the selected candidate.
